Chelsea Staub Talks About Her Fourth Of July Memories

In a recent interview with OK! Magazine, Chelsea Staub from Disney’s “JONAS L.A.” talked about her favorite Fourth of July memories:

"My grandma has this cabin up in Magnus, Colorado. It’s such a small town it only has one stoplight. They try to put on their own fireworks show, but they don’t have the manpower to shoot the fireworks high enough into the sky, so 90% of the fireworks explode right on top of us. Trees are catching on fire and things are literally going up into flames during the Fourth of July. Then, the fire department shoots off a firework and then they spend the next ten minutes extinguishing whatever that firework set on fire and they play John Wayne’s That’s America over and over on repeat. It’s hysterical. It’s a very small and patriotic town. I love it."
We hope your July 4th was safe and fun!

Chelsea Staub - Rainbow Dresses are In!

Screen shot 2010-06-23 at 11.44.20 AM

Thought that anything rainbow was a no-no? Well, the trend has been popping up on celebs like singer Estelle and JONAS star Chelsea Staub recently, so it’s clear that rainbows are in for summer

Multicolored dresses can be a hard look to pull off. To make it work, choose neutral shoes like Chelsea’s strappy nude sandals and keep makeup to a minimum. Avoid super-bright nail polish and eye shadow and if you must carry a clutch, make sure it’s a solid color and an easy shape like Estelle’s rectangular chocolate-brown bag. And have fun with it! With a rainbow dress, all eyes will be on you.

Chelsea Staub on Jonas Co-Stars: "They're Very Romantic"

Chelsea Staub June 21Chelsea Staub has one of the best jobs in the world. Not only is she a working actress, but she also gets paid to work with three of the hottest guys around: the Jonas Brothers.

How does it feel to work with such hotties? “It’s amazing,” she exclusively told OK! at a personal appearance recently at Planet Hollywood Times Square. “I feel really blessed in the sense that we’ve been working together for three years now and to get to go to work with these rock stars, who are insanely attractive. But, to have them be nice guys through it all and to be some great friends and people that I would enjoy spending time with even if I wasn’t forced to [laughs]. It’s a great gig. I’m very happy.”

Although she didn’t get to talk to Joe Jonas about his breakup with Demi Lovato, Chelsea still says she’s closest to him “by default.”

“We’re together on the show and Kevin [Jonas] is older and married and Nick [Jonas] is younger. He and Nicole are kind of closer to the same age as each other, so Joe and I kind of end up spending a lot of time together,” Chelsea explains.

“We really enjoy each other’s company, we’re kind of each other’s ying and yang. He’s very funny and kind of all over the place and I’m more like, ‘Joe we have to stay in line.’ So, it’s funny when we’re together. We kind of balance each other out.”

Jonas L.A. is “a small cast,” she explained to OK!.

“There’s five of us,” which means everyone knows each other pretty well. With that kind of intimacy relationship talk definitely comes up!

“We talk about the dos and don’ts of relationships.” Chelsea admits to OK!. “They’ve met guys that I’ve dated and they haven’t liked them and told me. And helped me kind of with my relationship situations, it’s cool in the sense that we get each other’s opinions — who is good for us and what they think about everything.”

What would Chelsea’s advice be to the guys?

“They’re kind of serial monogamists, so I would tell them just date, that way no one’s mad at you at the end of the day. Let’s not make anything official for a little while. Just have fun, you’re young, just enjoy being single.”

She does admit however that, “They pretty much have everything going for them and not only that, but they’re very romantic. It comes with being artistic and a musician, they’re always writing songs and thinking of these romantic things to do. So, they do pretty well.”

So, what’s the most romantic thing the Jonas Brothers have done for her?

“Well, I think one of the most romantic things I’ve ever seen is Nick and Joe rented out Trump Ice Skating Rink in the middle of Central Park late one night from like 11:00 at night until 2 in the morning and took us ice skating and it was snowing,” Chelsea gushes to OK!. “They gave us hot chocolate and they were playing like all these old Christmas carols. It was one of the most beautiful, romantic things I’ve ever experienced. I was like, I love you. Just make it official.”

Chelsea also added that their parents may have a special bit of influence on them. “I think you kind of follow in your parent’s footsteps, I notice I base a lot of my decisions on what my parents did. I know that Mr. and Mrs. Jonas were married pretty young, so I think it’s fitting and I think if you find someone that you care about why not? Go for it. More power to you, I think it’s awesome.”

Jonas L.A. airs Sunday nights at 8:30pm EST on the Disney Channel.

    J-14 - Exclusive Q&A with Chelsea Staub

ChelseaStaubJ14.jpgWith JONAS L.A. premiering on Disney Channel this Sunday at 8:30 p.m., J-14 hung out with Chelsea Staub and got all the scoop on what's up with Joe and Stella's relationship -- plus the details on Chelsea's real-life love drama!

J-14: What can we look forward to this season on JONAS L.A.?

Chelsea: Everything is different this season, except the cast. We even changed the title from JONAS to JONAS L.A. to really give everyone the idea to not expect what they saw last year. And we're filming on location all over L.A. We also have amazing guest stars, a lot of all-new music, new romance, and a continuous storyline! We acknowledge that our fans are growing up with us and that we've grown up a lot in the last year, so we really want to address that in the show. We want to make a show about stuff you guys want to see, which is love and summer vacation!

J-14: Any Joe and Stella updates?

Chelsea: In the first episode, Joe has flown Stella out to stay with him in L.A. for the summer. And the last time they saw each other was when they kissed and decided that they cared about each other and then he went on tour. So the first time they see each other again is actually at this house party in L.A. And he's ready to ask her to be his girlfriend and she thinks that he's seeing someone else -- this beautiful movie star that he's spotted around town with. And there's a little misunderstanding and Stella says I don't want to do this anymore. So they already end up breaking up in the first episode. But the whole season is really amazing because they still care about each other and they're trying to be stronger people and they both get into relationships with other people. And it's a pretty amazing season finale!

J-14: You recently tweeted some Rilo Kiley lyrics -- "With every broken heart we should become more adventurous." What was that about?

Chelsea: It was kind of from some personal experience. [The Vampire Diaries'] Steven R. McQueen and I met when we were 17 at the pilot for Wizards of Waverly Place and immediately hit it off. David Henrie actually introduced us! We dated for two years, and then he started filming The Vampire Diaries and I was working on JONAS and we kind of lost touch. Then we saw each other again at a Young Hollywood Awards party, and we've really been enjoying just hanging out and reconnecting and seeing where it goes. But he was caught out with another girl -- that's the night that I tweeted those lyrics.

J14: Are things okay with you and Steven now?

CS: Things are good. It's hard because I think the only time [going out with someone else] is wrong is if you're in a relationship, which we weren't, we were just testing the waters. He says it's platonic, but that's the hardest part about dating, especially with Twitter and the paparazzi. For me, I'll be dating a guy and he'll be like, 'Oh great, you're going to work with one of the Jonas Brothers and you guys are kissing? This is really not comforting!'

    Summer Survival with Chelsea Staub

T-5 DAYS UNTIL THE PREMIERE OF JONAS L.A.!

GL reporters Kate Durkee and Patricia McNamara chatted up Nicole Anderson and Chelsea Staub on JONAS L.A.’s swanky set.

School’s out…or just about. What do the next months of freedom have in store for you? Whether it’s finding the most stellar swimsuit or the perfect cutie to oogle over from afar, summertime brings a slew of challenges and fun.

Twenty-one-year-old Chelsea Staub knows all about that! Her character, Stella Malone, on JONAS L.A. is dropping everything this summer for an unforgettable vacay on the west coast with bestie Macy Misa and the Lucas clan.

What words of wisdom does the starlet have for all of us as we prep for these sizzlin’ months? We caught up with her on the JONAS L.A. set to find out. And be sure to catch Chelsea and the rest of the cast when JONAS L.A. premieres this Sunday, June 20, at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on the Disney Channel.

Summer Rule #1: Keep in touch
“Some of my favorite things over summer vacation were the care packages you would send to friends because we would all go off to different camps. We would send these cool letters to each other, drawings, snacks and funny photos. Opening the mail from my friend from camp was [one of] my favorite things to do.”

Summer Rule #2: Make an effort to reconnect with your buds after vacay
“Try to hang out. Try to make it a big deal that you’ve been separated and just enjoy your time together. You tend to pick up right where you left off with the people you really care about and the people who really care about you. If you drift apart, maybe it’s for a reason.”

Summer Rule # 3: Don’t dwell on an ex
“If a boy breaks up with you because he wants to be single during summer vacation, the bright side of that is you are now single as well. That means you’re fair game to go out, meet cute guys and have your own summer romance, which is really fun. It’s the perfect time to reinvent yourself. Luckily, you don’t have to see him at school every day [so] just enjoy having a fresh start.”

Summer Rule #4: Show your pearly whites around your crush
“Just smile. Nobody’s turned off by somebody who looks happy.”

Summer Rule #5: Don’t leave home without a great bathing suit
“I grew up in Arizona, so we lived in our bathing suits—even if we weren’t in the pool because it was like 500 degrees. Definitely [find] a cute bathing suit [that’s right for you].”

Summer Rule #6: Always stash a sundress
“A cute little sundress will doll up [your swimsuit]. It fits in your purse or bag, easy to carry [and] doesn’t wrinkle.”

What’s Chelsea looking forward to the most this summer? Watch below to hear it from her!

“That is actually…she’s [the girl who put it together, Laura] is using the same logo that I designed. She contacted Jake [Johnson] first and asked if he would come and do a show in Shreveport. Then she asked if I would make an appearance and he said that he’d mention it to me. It was kind of switched around because it was our thing with all the legal stuff. My mom called me and said, ‘Have you lost your mind? You’re putting another event in Louisiana?’”

Chelsea continued, “I’m really happy she’s putting it on and it inspired someone else to take the reigns. I think it’s going to be under a different name. But it’s not my event.”

Chelsea Staub Launches Fundraiser - "Harmonies for Haiti"

Things couldn't be much more hectic for beautiful blond "Jonas" leading lady Chelsea Staub, who has taken it upon herself to organize a fundraising concert for Haiti relief, "Harmonies for Haiti." She started off planning the event for a club in the 'burbs, but it's grown bigger.

Jonas Cutie Chelsea Staub Launches Fundraiser for Haiti (Image: WENN)

"Originally, I got the idea while I was sitting watching CNN like the rest of the world, wearing my sweatpants, eating a Popsicle. I thought, 'Wait -- I have connections in the industry; why don't I do something with this life that I've been given?'" she recalls. "Then I got on the computer and connected with some fans and asked, 'Hey, want to put on a free show and raise money for Haiti?' And it kind of snowballed into this event. I'm so excited and humbled by it. Then it really turned into the work part, figuring out which venue, handling ticket sales. I've kind of taken on the role of concert promoter."

The actress admits there've been times she's felt overwhelmed, "being 21 and never having done anything like this." That feeling hit her when she was talking seriously with two Sunset Strip nighteries about using their premises for the event Friday (2/5) -- the House of Blues and The Roxy. "I'd thought of maybe getting a couple of hundred kids in the audience, and all of the sudden, I was talking to a venue that holds 1,400 people. They've been very cool," adds Staub. She is keeping fans updated about the who, what, where and when via Twitter and her www.chelseastaub.com website.

Meanwhile, Staub has been having a blast recording her forthcoming animated "Fish Hooks" series, in which she plays an excitable goldfish named Bea. She's about to begin shooting the second season of "Jonas" with Kevin, Joe and Nick. And she has the Disney Channel Original Movie "Starstruck" debuting Feb. 14. It has Sterling Knight of "Sonny With a Chance" as a pop star who falls for an everyday high school girl (Danielle Campbell). Staub plays a glamour girl who is "kind of a young Hollywood stereotype, very famous, thinks she's pretty awesome, goes to all the clubs, wants to have her picture taken and be seen with the hottest guys. She's not a very deep person."

The disaster in Haiti has had me glued to the TV, but I hit a point where watching CNN in my sweatpants and indulging in my third popsicle just wasn't cutting it anymore. Being a young, working actress in Hollywood has granted me many amazing opportunities, so I figured it was time to finally put some bite behind my bark. Just like everyone else, I've texted "Haiti" to 90999 and Twittered about the crisis multiple times, but upon hearing story after story of the horrible atrocities these human beings are struggling to endure, it became clear that I needed to step it up.

Just Jared Jr. Interviews Chelsea Staub

Chelsea Staub met up with Just Jared Jr. to give them the lowdown on the JoBros, her new show “JONAS,” and what she’s working on next.

When asked what her favorite thing about the Jonas Brothers is, Chelsea answered that, “they’re cute and they’re fun, and we have a great time together. They love to make people laugh and make them feel comfortable... It’s awesome.”

Stella Malone is the character Chelsea Staub plays on the new Disney Channel show, “JONAS.” Chelsea shares that, “my favorite part of Stella is that she’s the only girl not affected by how famous the Jonas/Lucas Brothers have become. She’s grown up with these boys. They actually make a reference back to knowing each other since they were five years old. She doesn’t care that they’re famous — they’re her best friends so she picks on them, gives them girl advice and they rough house with each other. They’re best friends. And she’s completely honest all the time, probably to a fault.”

Teen Hollywood asks Chelsea about JONAS!

Chelsea Staub’s new show, "JONAS," premieres this Saturday May 2nd at 8/7c on the Disney Channel! Teen Hollywood interviewed Chelsea to find out what the guys are like to work with, if they’ve played any pranks on her and other on-set secrets! Here are a few highlights from the interview:

When asked what impressed her most about the Jonas Brothers, Chelsea answered, “I think the thing that’s amazing is that they’re actually great people and that’s hard to find these days. I think my first impression was ‘wow, these guys are really great’. About a year ago, when we shot the pilot, I was joking around and made some little stars with their names on them and glitter and decorated the dressing rooms and I went over to their house about a year later and they still had them on the doors to their bedrooms and, for me, it’s was like ‘wow, that’s really cool’ and they didn’t know I was coming over so it wasn’t a put on. It wasn’t staged. I think they’re just really good guys.”

Chelsea Staub Shares her Shoe Style

Playing Stella on the new Jonas Brothers television show, “JONAS,” allows Chelsea Staub to embrace her inner diva-style. She speaks with Junior Celebs about how she compares to her character on the show. “Stella is a lot like me in that she wakes up and decides what she wants to wear that day. She can go from a classic beret and scarf to a rocker look,” Staub said.

While she describes her personal style as bohemian and hippy, her favorite types of shoes are actually boots. “I’m a huge boot girl,” Chelsea shares, “I love cowboy boots and motorcycle boots — so Frye is definitely the dominant brand in my closet.” Even when it’s not raining, she loves wearing her new pair of Hunter galoshes.

Radio Free Entertainment Interviews Chelsea Staub

Radio Free Entertainment met with Chelsea Staub to talk about “Bratz,” breaking into show business, and becoming a part of the Disney family including her new show, “JONAS!”

As is often the case with actresses who play the mean girl, Chelsea is not only sweeter than her onscreen alter-ego, but also exceptionally friendly by any other standard. “The part that I loved about Meredith,” Chelsea says, “is that I was able to play the villain and not feel bad about it.”

Riding an elephant for “Bratz” was no small feat, and Chelsea chose to do it herself without the use of a stunt double. Chelsea reflects that, “it was funny to be in heels and a dress and trying to wave like a princess while my other arm is keeping me on this elephant. But she was so sweet when it came down to it.”

  • Chelsea Staub Gives 411 the 411 on Chelsea Staub

    December 31, 1969

Chelsea Staub Gives 411 the 411 on Chelsea Staub

411's Tony Farinella sat down with Chelsea Staub to talk about her role in “Bratz,” working with the legendary Jon Voight, and what keeps her grounded amidst Hollywood hubbub.

Meredith, the evil character in “Bratz” played by Chelsea was just one of those mean girls in high school that everyone has known at some point. So when Chelsea was asked if she used anyone as inspiration for the character, she laughed that she “probably shouldn't name names, but [thinks] everyone has those girls in school or those people in their life that are just so mean and you don't know how they sleep at night.”

Working with Jon Voight for Chelsea was an incredible treat. “He's so amazing, and he's such a big help on set. He really wants to help with your lines or rewrites or what could we do to make this better. I thought he was such an inspiration on set and to work with an Oscar winner on my first movie, it was just like, ‘Wow.’”
